Growing up in the neighborhood of the annual parade of the “Vada” adorned with the Three Saints made me feel blessed and special. I soon realized it wasn’t just the fanfare of it all, but something much more. Hearing the story of why we celebrate the Feast from my parents about the three brothers Alfio, Filadelfo and Cirino and their undying love for God; that they were brutally tortured and put to death because they would not denounce their faith in God reached my inward thoughts.

Even if you did not grow up with this Feast, faith had a way of entering prayfully and uplifting our hearts to God. What a beautiful way to honor these saints by attending the 10:00am Mass on Sunday August 31st. We thank the St Alfio Society for keeping the Feast for the Three Saints alive.
