Even with the changing times, the St. Rita’s Sodality has been in existence for almost 100 years. One hundred years ago, the trend was to build church community by joining organizations that offered a sense of family away from home. The founding ladies, along with the hundreds of women that would come after them bonded to St. Rita who they could relate to as a mother, widow and religious. People did not have all the outs that we have today, and the church was the center of their lives (what a blessing). St. Rita’s Sodality was very much alive in the devotional practices and the good works of charity that followed to satisfy the needs of our beloved Holy Rosary Church. After 100 years, our mission has not changed, and we welcome a new generation of ladies 18 years or older to join us to sustain the spiritual and social future of the St. Rita’s Sodality and the bright future that lies ahead for Holy Rosary Shrine. Plans are underway to celebrate this momentous occasion. ~Anita Sapienza
